My 3 and 8 year old boys love this treasure chest. It is heavy, very sturdy and well constructed. The skull latch pivotes to side to release lock, and it is easy enough for my 3-year-old to operate easily. Inside the chest is a slightly raised bottom with three planks of wood; the middle plank can be removed to access the secret compartment. The fabric flag and eye patch are substantial enough. The plastic coins are heavy, thick, well-made and deeply imprinted with a skull. The chest is large enough to hide other objects.
